The course codes we offer certification for are as follows:
Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation First Aid Course

HLTAID009: Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.

Application: all persons who may be required to provide CPR, in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

Course coverage: CPR guidelines and procedures, legal, workplace and community considerations, considerations when providing CPR (including appropriate use of an AED), and techniques for providing CPR to adults, children and infants.

Assessment conditions: each participant will be required to demonstrate skills in a simulated environment that provides realistic in-depth, scenarios and simulations to assess the participants’ skills and knowledge.

Course format (express): self-paced online component (to satisfy knowledge requirements) for between 30 minutes to one (1) hour and face to face component (to satisfy performance requirements) for around one (1) hour at your workplace or home. Note: learners undertaking the express course must have previously completed the standard course and need to provide evidence of their expiring or recently expired Statement of Attainment on the day of the course.

Validity period: this certificate is valid for 1 year from the completion date. Note that your employer or industry may have specific accreditation requirements (including how often individuals may need to renew their HLTAID009 certification) and as such, we recommend checking your specific accreditation requirements with your employer.

Upon completion of this course, and following internal processing, participants will receive a nationally recognised statement of attainment (in partnership with ABC First Aid (RTO 3399)) for the following unit of competency: HLTAID009: Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Provide First Aid

HLTAID011: Provide first aid

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.

Application: all persons who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

Course coverage: CPR guidelines and procedures, legal, workplace and community considerations, considerations when providing CPR (including appropriate use of an AED), techniques for providing CPR to adults, children and infants, and managing casualties including anaphylaxis, asthma, bleeding, choking, envenomation, fractures, dislocations, sprains and strains, nosebleeds, shock and minor wound cleaning and dressing, as well as responding to a first aid incident.

Assessment conditions: each participant will be required to demonstrate skills in a simulated environment that provides realistic in-depth, scenarios and simulations to assess the participants’ skills and knowledge.

Course format (express): self-paced online component (to satisfy knowledge requirements) for between 30 minutes to up to two (2) hours and face to face component (to satisfy performance requirements) for around one (1) hour at your workplace or home. Note: learners undertaking the express course must have previously completed the standard course and need to provide evidence of their expiring or recently expired Statement of Attainment on the day of the course.

Validity period: this certificate is valid for 3 years from the completion date. Note that your employer or industry may have specific accreditation requirements (including how often individuals may need to renew their HLTAID011 certification) and as such, we recommend checking your specific accreditation requirements with your employer.

Upon completion of this course, and following internal processing, participants will receive a nationally recognised statement of attainment (in partnership with ABC First Aid (RTO 3399)) for the following unit of competency: HLTAID011: Provide First Aid, HLTAID009: Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation and HLTAID010: Provide basic emergency life support.

Provide First Aid in an education and care setting

HLTAID012: Provide First Aid in an education and care setting

This unit covers the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants and children in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.

This unit covers the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants and children in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.

Application: a range of workers within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency. This includes early childhood workers and educators who work with school age children in outside school hours care and vacation programs.

Course coverage: CPR techniques, managing child casualties including anaphylaxis, asthma, bleeding, choking, envenomation, fractures, dislocations, sprains and strains, nosebleeds, shock and minor wound cleaning and dressing, as well as responding to a first aid incident.

Assessment conditions: Each participant will be required to demonstrate skills in an environment that provides realistic in-depth, scenarios and simulations based on child and infant casualties to assess candidates’ skills and knowledge. Participants will also need to perform two (2) minutes of uninterrupted CPR on infant and child manikins.

Course format (express): self-paced online component (to satisfy knowledge requirements) for between 30 minutes to two (2) hours and face to face component (to satisfy performance requirements) for around one (1) hour at your workplace or home. Note: learners undertaking the express course must have previously completed the standard course and need to provide evidence of their expiring or recently expired Statement of Attainment on the day of the course.

Validity period: this certificate is valid for 3 years from the completion date. Note that your employer or industry may have specific accreditation requirements (including how often individuals may need to renew their HLTAID012 certification) and as such, we recommend checking your specific accreditation requirements with your employer.

Upon completion of this course, and following internal processing, participants will receive a nationally recognised statement of attainment for the following units of competency (in partnership with ABC First Aid (RTO 3399):

  • HLTAID012: Provide First Aid in an education and care setting;
  • HLTAID009: Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation;
  • HLTAID010: Provide basic emergency life support; and
  • HLTAID011: Provide First Aid.
